I believe this topic belongs in the Wuthering Heights subforum (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1347). Don't worry, I believe the mods will fix it.

Also, your post is rather unattractive. ;)

Welcome to the site!

Yes, I think there are still people like Heathcliff today, or at least people have elements of his character within themselves. Heathcliff perhaps is an exaggeration of those combined characteristics due to his oppression, but I think he is a warning/caution to humanity of uncontrollable passions that might lie dormant within you but eventually errupt into a terrible vengeance. Although English society has changed greatly since the 19th century, and class difference and general social life has changed, there are still aspects of life which Heathcliff represents, such as a victim of betrayal, forms of oppression from enemies and maybe even race or religious oppression in some areas which may form thses characteristics. everyone has faults and its up to us to control them or to let them expand out of control.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the novel! :)
