I'm looking for a book I read years and years ago, probably about 6 years ago, although thats a wild guess. Unfortunatly, I can only remember snippets of it...
It was about a boy who was put in an abusive orphanage. He has broken memories, and travels around, based on these. Trying to find them, or something.
The title was a bastardisation of "scallywag" (scillywig/scullywog/something) . You find out thats because when he was younger, one of the few people that was nice to him was a women who called him a scallywag.
I also remember bits to do with a poppy (i think) field with high fences, and looking out to see, on some cliffs, by a car.
Unfortunatly, this is all I can remember, and google isnt helping at all... theres just nothing specific enough.
Anyone know which book I'm talking about?
