For a New Friend’s Birthday

I write these sonnets every once in a while.
When people’s birthdays come rolling around,
I kind of have my own special twist and style,
But there’s always a thread of truth to be found.
Now you must be the new kid in LitNet town,
I searched in the members list for you and came up short.
But that little problem is sort of easy to get around,
If a man wants friends, show himself to be the friendly sort.
So I hope you’re doing quite well on this one special day,
That God sends His blessing and your friends do the same.
That’s a lot of the problem in this old wide world today,
Folks want God to do what they should be doing all the time what a shame!
Now my new friend if you need anything everybody here calls me Uncle Pen.
And if I don’t have the answer I'm really good at listening…
