So glad that you are (almost) home. It's not as much fun here without you. I hope you feel better and that you are still able to rest at home. I sure do love you! I'm glad you'll be back on here- I really miss you when you're gone.

Just got home, have to lie down..oh boy what fun! Sarah went to pick up drugs, yogurt at junk I've really had enough of. No more steroids!!! They make me shake and give me headaches so they are over for now. No cigarettes since Sunday and that was just one before going into the hospital. Can't smoke again....COPD which isn't curable but can be controlled and the progression stopped. Old is crappy in case anyone was wondering...and by the way, Granny doesn't mean REALLY old....I'm 50ish and will be 51ish in January. But thanks for all the sweet thoughts and well wishes. That may be what got me home so fast.
Thanks everyone. Forget cigarettes, I was having LitNet withdrawals!!

Sorry to hear about your condition. I'll be praying. Here's a buddy to help you with those cigarettes, I had to use him myself: http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l108/AbsalomKane/Newest/ColdTurkey.png

Welcome back dear Granny. Hope you are feeling better. Wow, only 51? You're young for a Granny. ;) There was a book I think like twenty years ago that was titled something like (I'm not sure if this is exact) "Growing Old Is Not For Sissies." It keeps coming back to me as i grow old and as I've seen my father deteriorate and my mother going through issues.

Edit: The book still exists. Here: http://www.amazon.com/Growing-Old-Not-Sissies-Portraits/dp/0876544782

Thanks Pen. Hopefully I won't need the chicken or turkey. The Chantix seems to work lots better with they tell you that you have the early stage of COPD...weird how that works.

Thank you Virgil. I'll look at the book as soon as I get a minute. And remember, I said 51 after my birthday but I lie about my age all the time...it's close though.

Thanks Meg...I hope I get to go through all the posts and see what I've missed soon. Girls aren't letting me do much or stay up too long....really sucks. Feels like I'm still in the hospital. When Poppy gets home and they leave, I'll have the run of the house.
I sure missed everyone on here. Funny how quickly it becomes a part of everyday life, isn't it.

Now, Prince....you have lots of old women to pick on here. How was your visit with your niece? I really missed you guys. Glad to be home.

Hi Granny, and welcome back. I had to google your illness. Sounds a bit scary (I'm a smoker, too ...)

You are quite right, coming here becomes a daily routine, better than watching TV.

I hope the meds work for you and you recover soon.

All the best, Barbara.

Welcome Back Granny!

Thank you Princess Bailey. Coming to see me last night did the trick!
Love you!

And thanks to everyone for all the warm wishes and prayers. Prayers always help (yes they do Prince!) and are greatly appreciated. COPD isn't the worse, especially since it can be arrested if I'll keep off certain things...cigarettes. But it's been easier than I ever imagined. Prayers, determinations, and Chantix.
Thanks again.

Hey, I deserve the sympathy...30 sticks for 2 iv's and four blood draws??? And I have good veins. My arms look like pin cushions. Next time dehydrate, you need to do something.

Poor Poppy! Poor Granny! Here's some sympathy for you - along with a can of beer :D Hope that helps both of you.

Well your girls are right to keep you from over doing it:lol: Bet you'll be thrilled to see Poppy though. I hate it when people fuss over me.

Hey everyone. Thanks so much for all the good thoughts. I've missed being on here but my nurse...she's really my daughter who is a nurse....won't let me play much. I haven't had or wanted a cigarette since Sunday. Maybe Chantix really is a winner? Seems to be working great. Of course, I haven't been back to work where I believe temptation will lurk at every turn, or break. But so far, it's been almost too easy. Hope to be able to catch up on all the posts I've missed in the next couple of days. Thanks again!
