'Ello fellow literature-lovers. I'm pretty orignal in my normality, if I may say so myself. So, depending on how you take it, you may find me cliche and rather dull or just alright. Out on the world wide web, I go by the name of Rowan West - which I like much better than my real name, which naturally, will remain confidental. I am fifteen at the moment and will be so until next September.

Evidently, I enjoy literature, praticular poetry and prose. I also am an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader and would love to compare favourite books if you are in to such genres. I also write - a lot, although most of it is your normal crop of teenage angst. I've tried to branch out in the pass couple months and have achieved one rather good (if I may say so myself) creative non-fiction piece. I also horseback ride when money allows, which is about once a week, although my instructor keeps pressuring my mother to do a half lease on a horse, which would be quite exciting. I absolutely love to listen to music, and despretely wish I could sing. Sadly, I'm very, very tone deaf. I mostly listen to the alternative or rock sort of music, but I really have a bit of everything on my antique ipod. Some of my favourite bands include Muse, Snow Patrol, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Nickelback, Daughtry, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and many, many more. I also love James Blunt's newest CD, All The Lost Souls - which if you haven't heard, you really should go find a way to listen to it. I love watching movies as well. I just Beowulf - and that was rather good. My favourite movies would have to be Benny and Joon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, hands down. As far as TV shows go, I watch Heroes, Bionic Woman, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, and American Idol (my guilty pleasure!). I love Firefly, and really wish that there was more than one season of that. -mini sigh-

I have numerous accounts on different sites, including FictionPress, The Poetry Sancuary, and DeviantART. So if you come across another Rowan West on the web somewhere, it's probably me.

Except, I'm not the erotica author you find when you google "Rowan West".

I'm really excited to join Literature Network Forums and am equally excited to meet you all. If there is anything else you may want to know, feel free to ask.

Rowan.

Hey there, welcome to litnet. ;) I believe you and I have a lot of things in common. Did you say MCR? Ooh, that's one of my favorites. I have somehow come to like Paramore too. As you see, I am a rock music enthusiast, some sort of a "cheerful emo," the rest is pretty much hard to explain. I do hope you'll like it here in the company of fellow litnetters. :)

Hi, welcome!
Keep up the writing, I think it's one of the best things you can do! I'm not any kind of a fiction writer yet, I just wrote one rather bad short story, but I'll keep at it eventually. I've written tons of poems and some of them are good but nothing very good yet. I've just been inspired to write some more, so hopefully it will be something great!
As for singing, I used to be exactly that; tone deaf. It was actually when I was fifteen when I got my first guitar teacher who taught me how to sing as well. What you do- find a piano and practice singing the notes. It's that simple. Just practice that, and you'll become a good singer.
Couple people here are on dA, too. My name there is edorianminor, though I've slipped into inactivity because I don't want people to read my poetry. I wrote some 350-400 poems in a 2-3 month period; some of them are good but they are buried, really! The great thing about this was that afterwards, reading others' poetry I really understood every word and line, and reading some of Whitman I grew to understand metaphysic poetry.

So...yeah, welcome and enjoy.

Oh I sing. There are many broken eardrums out there thanks to me.

I will add you on DeviantART even if you no longer really use it. :) I join a little while ago but really just starting using. I've posted my newer poetry and some photos (although they aren't too go). My name on there is fadedpurplewords.

Thanks for the welcome!

No no, yeah, I sang too, even though it wasn't good. I used to sing at chess club, all kinds of songs but my favourites were the Beatles, which we'd play a tape of. The best compliment I ever got was from my best friend Cris, "When Jake sings, angels rip their wings off," or set themselves on fire. :) lol

okay see you there. I still go there about every day I just no longer fav anything except on people I watch.
