I'm in the mood for tales about chess and chess players,
anyone know of any good ones?

Well, I liked the movie The Luzhin Defence, which was apparently based on a novel by Vladimir Nabokov called The Defense.

The Chess Garden

I don't even remember who wrote it. It's a very bad book. But hey, it's about chess.

Hey, I know what you mean, sometimes you just gotta read something really bad.

How bad is it? I'm already excited.

Lewis Carroll's (Alice) Through the Looking Glass should get a mention...

Ah yes the famous chess queens. The cartoon movies always combine the chess queens with the Queen of hearts, even though they are in different books. Rather annoying.

There is a musical called Chess, anybody ever heard of it? Other than that I cannot bring to mind any others. What got you on a fanatical chess reading streak? An avid chess fan, or just read one and want another?

Actually, it was stumbling across this rather simple yet entertaining
web page.

I am a fan, and play a good game, but no more 30 hours without sleep
chess marathons for me.

Addicted I was, yes.

A woman cured me of that, guess how? :brow:
