Morning Watch

Oh how I wish I could hover over you,
invisible, watching you as you wake,
seeing what you are seeing, and then
waiting for your fan to unfold; you,
with eyes like a geisha, ready to sing
your mystery, my breath taken and
stored in the buds of cherry blossoms,
and someday, in the spring,
you will walk by and stop
at the smell of their perfume.

This is one of those that seem to have been exhaled on a single loving breath!

This is lovely.
I particularly love:

my breath taken and
stored in the buds of cherry blossoms,
and someday, in the spring, you will
walk by and stop at the smell of their perfume.

Very nice!!!:)

This is so beautiful and says so much in its few words. And I love the transformation in the last three lines.

I read this as almost a prayer to a little girl asleep. Wonderful.

Very nice Amp. I really was taken with this, "waiting for your fan to unfold." What a marvelous image. And "eyes like a geisha" is also quite interesting.
