The seconds long, the wait longer
Feeling so tremendous, this weighing languor.
It came shockingly sudden, such a surprise
My unpreparedness rang loud, drowning the cries.
Given to me, with no ration
Knowledge immediately vanished, now a lone man in this declension.

Step by step, closer and closer
Will not stop, forced on further.
The heat is rising, along with frustration
Sweat drips and drops, seemingly in gallons.
Indeed almost there, adrenaline running high
Fate within grasp, fear overwhelming I cannot deny.

Reaching forth toward, all becomes lorn
Darkness then emerges, an enveloping swarm.
In floods abominable silence, washes those wispy
Lost in boundless shadows, existence crashing rapidly.
Descent is done, here I lay
Frankly forever confined, amongst the rotten and repugnant decay.
The wait over, the time stopped
Pain so insufferable, this ceaseless distraught.
