My turn to appeal for music help. I really want to expand my tastes in world music. Any suggestions? Who are your favorites?

Anything goes. Indian, African, Arabic, South American, Native American, German, Russian, Spanish. Even Irish, though I know rather a bit about that.

Thanks all!

:) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D

As for African music, try Angelique Kidjo. She is really good - she toured with Josh Groban this year and they have a duet, "Pearl" which is very good too. I hadn't heard of her until she performed with JG but she was fantastic (and if you haven't checked out Josh Groban, do. He's amazing. I guess you can consider his music "world" even though he's American because he sings in italian, spanish, english, and french.)

T.A.T.U is amazing and anti-flag (just click the link on my sig) rocks as well. If you want to try some music in Spanish I would suggest Julieta Venegas. Or Miyavi, for some j-rock. Rammstein is great as well when In the mood for some German. :D
