*Loss and Gain*
by mazHur
How miserable
One feels when winters don't seem to end,
When summers arrive with a smiling trend,
Life blooms with joy.
Someone adorable
Ting tong music of your pulsating heart,
Strangles its tune with infidelity's garrote,
Leaves you with nothing to deploy.
What seems profitable
turns out to be a deadly loss;
Speculation is like candy floss,
voluminous but lighter than a troy.
Life is a gamble;
The most precious thing lies on the stake;
A struggle ensues for struggles sake,
Gain you seldom enjoy.

Indeed, life is something life a game
And doth not take the wise - victory and defeat for real
The game not a modern bloody one
But a childish simple one
What you have to today
will be lost or have to decay
What you lose today
will be a forgotten yesterday
Today's friends and foes
Will be nothing of joys and woes
With the turn of the hour
Friend, what will remain of you
except the imprints of memories
on the heart of your fellow-beings
against the sands of time
Understanding this truth
You will stomach the idea
the whole of the Gita, the Bible and the Koran
is crammed in the truth as simple as this.
Does victory not entail defeat
Does thirst not contain satisfaction
Wihout the feeling of departing
how will be in union?
With this turn of ideas
Are not losses and gains springing up from the same wellspring?

Glory, this is beautiful !
