I'm watching and A&E profile of the Barenaked Ladies. I used to love them. They were the little Canadian band that we used to go see everytime they were in town. Now they play large arenas and have radio hits and I barely listen to them anymore, what happened? As I'm watching they're still that fun band with catchy songs. Is it because of that old sell out bugaboo? Did I change?

Did they sell out or did everyone else just finally realize what a good band they are? I really enjoy some of their older songs.

That's what I'm wondering.

You know what? I think they became a little better known because word got around that they were good. Then, for some reason, people thought it was cool and "hip" to like them! I always liked them long before the general public knew who they were (that was how it was for me with Maroon 5, too). The last time I saw them they played a small venue here. It was a holiday concert, actually! That was about 4 years ago, I think. It was really quite an intimate concert. And for only $25!!! They put on a very good show. So you can't beat that!!

I liked that song 'one week.' I guess that was their most popular song. D'you think thats what killed them?

My son used to have a band and they played at the local college for a charity fund raiser. My granddaughter was only 3 or so at the time. Between songs, she would yell, "Million Dollars!" He sang it to her all the time but he wouldn't do it at the concert.
