View Full Version : Haiku for lovers....

I posted these here because I don't think it's really a game. However, if anyone else would like to add their own, please do. Of course, if it turns out that way, that's okay. I'm using the 17 syllables in three metrical lines, 5-7-5.
I hope it will stay 'appropriate' for our forum.
To fully enjoy, read each line, then pause, reflecting on the images. Then meld them into a single thought, creating the scene before your eyes.
Quencher
Bird swallows water
Her hips ahead of his taste
Rise, RISE, trickle down
Deliquescence
Frozen by his stare
Her name drowning on his tongue
Bergs plunge to the sea
Polly Nation
Pistils and stamens
Spring fever feels delightful
Spent and satisfied

The Calm
Blue Heron watches
still pools like a lovers eyes
anticipating
The Air
Sultry day presses,
breathing rises, all is still,
the falling leaves pause
Storm
Blue Heron plunges
ripples start, the wind, lightning,
weightlessness of wings

Men Love Nature, Women Love Men
What if war was the
longing for touch. To live by
consensus of one?
Inhabitants of bodies (on a deck) far from home
She leans into the
fresh stout on my breath, naked.
"Are you shy?" she asks.
(Me?!)
I learn tenderness
Her belly laugh /eyes.
To slip into her accent.
How affected I am

Sun
What hides in the ice
knows time well and is reborn,
so too all things melt
Moon
Lovers pass in time,
on crowded streets, but in dreams
reflection finds them
Stars
Often they are gone,
the light has moved beyond sight,
star-crossed lovers meet

Red hawk on the edge
Falls forward and then lies back

Trees
Were two long ago,
branches embrace in a dance
one dips low, she laughs

Warm, the lovers hand.

inter-mingling, becoming
inseparable.

Winter’s robe is off,
Fall’s lingerie, Sweet Flower!

your reds, deepest violet,
the bees are helpless.

Here's some haiku I just spun out, seems fitting to put them here, where love dwells. :)
the book lies with me
Says I will find you in your
sundress...the book closes.
sundress...the book closes.
Be my endless visitor
mornings of long looks
mornings of long looks
in the middle of the sky,
stars buried in fists
stars buried in fists,
The North star my seductress,
stalking galaxies
stalking galaxies,
blue jewels, I'm knee deep in sky
come over and play!

Melting the frost
Song birds call the sun
We wake to the morning chill
Making our own warmth
Cat and mouse
Unexpected smile
Bashful, expressing promise
Eyes peek through lashes
Yielding
She whispers softly
“You may have what you desire”
yield to temptation

sending chills down me
