Hello, I'm new to the forum and am from England. I am particularly interested in pre-20th century literature. I am a student and I am thinking about adapting some novels into scripts for our school theatre company. Does anyone have any suggestions on any novels they would like to see dramatised, perhaps something that hasn't been tried before?

Have you thought about some from Thomas Mann or Knut HAmsun?
will you consider Hesse ?(the last summer of Klingsor...or Wagner)
I am just thinking...

Dunno about things that haven't been tried, but there are some options. I doubt much by Melville has been adapted other than the obvious (Typee, maybe?). Or a Poe short story that's never been tackled ("Thingum Bob," "Blackwood Article")?

Poe is a good idea. You might want to read "The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall" or "The Great Balloon Hoax". For a one act play "Diddling" would work well. "William Wilson" would also be good.
