The Fate Of Nations
by mazHur

The pen may be mightier
than the sword
in places where
people know how to write
and where they can get ink
to fill it up
Or, know that a ball pen
has to be held point down
to write
and that it would stop writing
if you held and wrote with it
on the wall;
where the hands are free,
where fingers are not fractured
and do not bleed by the brass shots.

The pen stands no chance
in a land where people
have but a dry nib-broken pen,
and nothing to write upon,
not even a wailing wall,
except bare metal,
brass, shining brass
which needs not a pen
but an etcher to
etch and engrave
and destroy the bleak marks
scribbled on it
by the broken pen.
pen is no match for the solid brass,
which is let to hammer down
the destiny of a wretched land
and its people.
