Are there no reasonably priced copies of "Dark Carnival" available anywhere?
I was under the impression that it was re-released in 2001, but am still unable to find copies that are not 1st editions for $1-3,000.

The new edition was published in 2001, however it was limited to 700 copies.

Several copies are listed on Amazon.com starting around $425.00.

I've never heard of "Dark Carnival" before. Why were there only 700 copies released, and why are the original so expensive?
