Oh, God of wretched and humble
mercifully accept my prayer!
You, great, because You Are God of small
at your feet, oh, look at your smallest one
how without hope he submits
how hopelessly he explains
immeasurable greatness of his wretchedness.
Without any merit he lies in the dust of earth
look, a pitiful minuteness among all living creatures:
It never offered a dove at your altar,
it didn’t anoint feet of oppressed,
and never tolled glorious Resurrexit!
Oh, God of wretched and humble,
Until great silence comes,
Until great silence comes –
Mercifully accept my sad prayer!

One of my favourite poems from one of my favourite poets, Ivan Krasko :) I just wanted to share it with you - though this is just my poor translation, of course.

Not so poor a translation, and of course a really heartfelt prayer de profundis. Thank you.

It really touches any reader, and I feel a poet is really a man of great spirituality, and indeed no spiritualist can go deeper than this.

Here the poet has entered into the very spirit of solitude.

I really am immersed in every line and at times I feel spiritually elevated when I come a poem of this measure pf beauty.

Anyway thank you for letting me read such a marvelous poem
