Tom's midnight garden

Hi I'm doing a BA hons in English and I've got an essay on Tom's midnight garden, I've got to write about the interest in time and space in the novel and make it last 2500 words. I could either write in what sense is it an adventure story. Which does everyone think would be easier to write and any pointers.

This is another book thats been hanging out in my TBR pile for over a year. Doesn't appeal at the moment. Just nudging it to help a fellow Brit although you've prob. finished the essay by now!

Would it be cheating to do a comparison between the treatment of time & space in Tom's Midnight Garden and another book with similar themes in the same genre, perhaps "Children of the Green Knowe"
