Why do the people of Oceania have the two minutes of hate? Why don't they just go along with Goldstiens point of view so they don't have to take the time of day for the two minutes of hate?

I believe the two minutes of Hate is used to unite the people in anger. When everyone gets together and sees the traitor of Big Brother, everyone is outraged. When they see Big Brother, they call him "their savior". Its all part of brainwashing the society so they can't fight back.

When a country is at war, if the people are united in anger and fear, then we are at peace with ourselves, hence the War is Peace.

Exactly that. Plus, given the stringent rules on sexual liaisons, it's a good way of letting out sexual frustration.
