Welcome Mansoor. I'm new here too. I was a member before, and the forum offered me alot of support when writing essays, or just seeking inspiration. I have an ecclectical literary taste; and am open minded to all things.

Tried reading Shakespeare, and his works (the ones I tried) I found a way too boring for myself. :p Some of the poems by Browning are really good though. Eliot (if you mean T.S. Eliot?) I have never read though I love Mill on the Floss by George Eliot (amazing description). And any books by Marvell/Tolstoy I have not got hold of yet.
I also like leaders and heroes like Moulana Johar,Iqbal,Maudodi, Nelson Mandela and Mohammad Ali Jinnah. I hope that all the members will be cooperative and friendly.
Ummm.
Maulana Johar - haven't read much about him.
Iqbal - some of his works are really good (as a poet). I like:
mein jab sarbasajda hua kabhi to zamin say anay lagi sada
tera dil tu hai sanam ashnaa tujhe kiya milay ga namaaz mein
But I remember finding two of his verses contradicting each other. In one there was something like:
"hay sare jahan say accha Hindustan hamara
And at some other time, he wrote:
"Muslim hain hum, hai sara jahan hamara
Maudidi - interesting. I know someone who has him as his inspiration (and that man is more than seventy years old)
Nelson Mandela - haven't read much about him. But the actions taken by him appear to be good.
Mohammad Ali Jinnah - like some of his qualities as a leader, for example his realization of the value of 'time' and some other regulations but on a few places some of the actions taken by him don't seem to be too right to me.
But I guess I am a perfectionist. :p
Welcome anyway.
