Hello,

I´m kat and I´m new on this forum. I´m looking for a poem I read when I was in highschool as an exchange student in 2003. Actually I´m from germany.

I don´t remember the name of the poet or the title, but it was about a man talking about a landscape covered with snow, his little daughter at his side. seemed like he was talking to her but actually he was thinking about his other daughter who passed away and now her grave is covered with snow.

when I was talking to a friend about poems I remembered this one and was a little bit angry with myself not remembering anything of the important stuff like poet and title... :(
can somebody help me out?

Hello kat, welcome! I am new here myself, but I do love poetry and like hunting for poems. Can you clarify if the poem you are trying to remember words to, was an English language poem, or a translation? And, if English, whether from America? Some way of narrowing it down might jog people's memory. But then again you just might get lucky and be read by a person who knows exactly the poem. I wish you luck, and I will follow this thread to learn of this poem, it sounds nice!:thumbs_up

Hey, thanks for your comment.

Yes, it was an English poem and we read it in english III in highschool. The main topic was "american poets and poems" and it was in a big red school book. It was in Newsome Highschool, Lithia FL - Hillsborough County. Maybe every school there uses the same books. so, hope that helps a little bit.
It was about 5 to 8 paragraphs, i think. oh, and I remember it is a male poet.
Only the last line was about is second daughter sleeping under the snow.
