At first I thought that the telescreen was just created to scare the people into thinking that they were constantly watched, but as I read further, I found out that the telescreen could actually see everyone. I just don't get how it could be a two-way camera into basically every room in the country.

I would think that it works like a web-cam. There would be a hidden camera in or near the screen and BB would have an office building full of people watching randomly. Or they would watch more often anyone they suspected.

Easy. We have the technology to do this now.
Imagine an autocue - one side is projecting the script while the other is recording the footage. The telescreen works like a two-way mirror, but tv images.

ok here's what i think. i believe that the telescreen can see eveything because there are hidden cameras all around the country/town. Which would mean the thought police and love police and so on are watching from some building or the police station with all the screens on from all the angles and homes in the town. This would help them to ensure everybody is following the rules and doing what they're supposed to do.
