Three legs of the Steinway
raise a symphony of birds
in the veins above of the floor

the elegant legs
of the Steinway
as a woman

whom we listened
slowly
in its black dress.

I have a special affinity for pianos. I loved this piece, all the images and the sound. Nothing like a tall, cool woman in a black dress.

I could never afford a grand. It is a dream to have one in a white room with hardwood floors, candle sconces and red roses.

and me, draped across the top in my red sequined gown....Oh wait! That's a smokey bar room. Sorry, I couldn't resist. It is early and I'm in a silly mood.

I too love your poem Mr? Parreira. I hang out with pianos a lot. Being the girly girl I am though, I think of it as a tuxedoed man. :)
