from the thread - what is a good poem.

on Art being being subjective.

That's but a coward's way out.

There is no cowardice in it. It is of pragmatism.

It is an arrogance - an Elitist Hubris - to divide what is Art and what is not!

In what way you can say for example Granny5 work is not Art but Tennyson is? Is it Tennyson says something about The Human Condition? So does Granny5's - it says about her own Human Condition!

Artistic relativity, eh?

Art is subjective. There is no getting around it.

There is no "good" nor "bad" art? I doubt there is but a single "good" artist who believes such drivel.

Either art communicates or it does not. Either it resonates with us or it does not.

A "valueless" art would seem to me to be rather worthless.

But all art is quite useless ;-)

I doubt that even your ennobled masses believe such tripe.

You are part of the masses. To stand outside of it is arrogance. A Hubris.
