Hi. I'm looking for a book that would give me more info. re women, and their roles around the home, in marriage, in education, etc. around 1800 to figure out what the stereotype was back then. I'm hoping to find some sections that I could quote in an essay I'm writing.

Any suggestions on books? I thought there were a couple mentioned on this site, but I can't seem to locate them.....

Was it common practice for property to be entailed in the 18th/19th centuries? Also, was this procedure common only to England, or other countries as well? I am attempting to find a sentence in the novel that gives this specific information...

I have done a search using the word 'entail', but am still not finding the info. I am looking for.

I found 7 instances by searching for entail.
If that doesn't completely satisfy, you could try searching for inherit also.

I don't recall the book explaining the entail well enough to get an understanding of it.

There is more information on the Entail and other aspects of Jane Austen's writing here:
