NEVER!

How do you know you are boring :

If people are yawning and not laughing when they are with me.

What is the characteristics of a boring person? :D

They can't see they're boring. They talk about themselves. They leave incredibly, long boring posts on the litnet.

Why? Do you fear you're boring now, lote? :p

I'd say I'm rather boring if I'm not intoxicated or about to be jumped. I do a lot of things that most other people won't, but I'm constantly bored, so I guess I must be pretty boring.

Some people consider me boring, some people consider me very interesting, and some people consider me the life of a party. In a crowd where people take dope and talk about which model is the sexiest, I'm the most boring person around. In crowd trying to understanding D. H. Lawrence or some other author I may be more than familiar with, I might be consider very interesting. In a crowd of people talking about the nuiances of engineering design of the type of work i do, I may be the life of that party. Boring is in the eye of the beholder.

Somehow, I can picture that
But you know, not knowing who's the sexiest model doesn't mean you're boring, it simply means that you're not interested in such shallow subjects, it can be a pretty good thing. I know about these things, it doesn't make a difference if you know them or not.

there's a difference between 'sexy models' and beautiful women (but of course that difference is invisible to males, seeing as they process visual information related to women in their second brain :D)

A boring person for me is someone who doesn't have any passion. It can be about anything. I don't care. Just have something that makes you feel like you make a difference...something that excites you everytime you talk about it or think about or live it! Its almost a type of energy. Not hyper or whatever, but having that air about you. I dunno...thats what I think.

See Sleepy's point. I don't know the name of any model. None. I'm amazed when someone drops a name of one and expects me to know who that is. But there are people who know the names of many of the top models. I frankly don't even know the names of many actors and actresses. I don't know if I should use a :yawnb: or a  . Frankly I'm not embarressed about it.

Virgil, Excellent! This is exactly how I look at it, too. I do not normally think I am boring unless someone were to tell me to my face I am; then actually I still would not believe them. If you cultivate many interests, how can you be boring or bored? If you bore yourself, then you surely must be 'boring' to everyone else. It is all in the perception.

You all are what you think and believe; you are a unique person, so how can you say you are boring?

and manolia, I don't find this talk of your island in the least boring. I am captivated.
If people get bored with this "...talking about Crete (my island) and how beautiful it is, how it is in fact the most beautiful place on earth, it has the best beaches, extremely good nightlife, gorgeous men and women
..." then it is their problem!!! I only want to know more. I have never perceived you in the least as a boring person.

Hi Virgil,

This just goes to prove that you are not a busy-body, a gossiper like me! ;) ...who thrives on information that is mostly likely to be irrelevant to his/her life...

Agree! The most boring topics will never be boring if the deliver speaks with passion. That is what inspires and moves others.

For me, it's hard sometimes to find someone who has the same interests, the very fact that people tend to look upon anyone who liked reading and lit. as a geek, makes me utterly boring in the eyes of many people  I've never been told so in the face, but sometimes people give you that look, the get-a-life kinda look  I suppose that would make me boring to them. But then again, I think it depends on the crowd and who's talking to you. But if I'm boring cuz I talk about what I like, which doesn't interest others, then I don't mind being boring, as long as I know and belive that what I talk about matters and has a value.

Am I boring? Definitely not. For me, personally, I am the most entertaining person I know!! :) I enjoy any adventure I partake in. I enjoy my choices in books, movies, music, theater and sports. I find the sarcastic (and sometimes truly nasty) thoughts that I think about people quite humorous. I enjoy myself! :D

As for what the rest of the world thinks, who knows?! I seriously don't care! If they think I am boring, so be it! Chances are I would feel the same way about them, too. So, we most likely wouldn't be on friendly terms and I would never have to think twice about them, anyway.

I do get incredibly bored, though, with people who have practically NO interests in ANYTHING, no desire to EVER DO ANYTHING and who ABSOLUTELY CANNOT have an intelligent conversation about ANYTHING in life!!

But that is just how I am, though. :)

I'm pretty dull, but that's alright. My highlights are kids, cooking, reading, writing, and crafts. It doesn't make for an super interesting day, but I love it all the same. For me, I guess boring is monotony. I do the same things almost every day, but I've learned to crave the structure. The idea of it being upset is making me crazy:lol: I'll admit that I am exactly the type of person I thought was boring when I was a teen... someone who does the same things all the time, and has no interest in trying anything new.

Only when I have serious discussions, or want to have them. Usually about literature and music. I don't physically interact with anybody who has the same interest as me.

I keep the serious as internal monologues and use humor in my social interactions. We laugh, but there isn't any substance. Sometimes laughter bores me.
