Dear all,

After spending a few weeks following threads in this forum, I am getting an impression that most of the members of this forum are either English/Lit professors/teachers or Arts/Lit students.. am I correct?

If there is anyone out there who is of science or health background???

You're an engineer?! You didn't come across as one (with what seems like you always having something smart to say in virtually all sections of the forum... even poetry.)

I am glad though; makes me feel less out of place... only ever so slightly...

I saw some of the pictures of California you posted in another thread. Are you from America? I have been to California a few times... It is a very beautiful state... I love San Diego the most...

Oh, another engineer! Wow! By the way, hi Walter... very nice to meet you.. (hand extending...)

Thank you very much. That is quite a compliment. If you click on my name on the side of this post, and from the drop down menu click view public profile, you'll see my profile. I live in New York, I'm a mechanical engineer who also has a masters in english lit. I did that on my own for the love of it.

Welcome to lit forums. As long as you enjoy reading, then this place is for you. You don't have to be an expert in lterature. Lots of activities here. Reading, writing, games, book club. I hope you stick around. I bet the overwhelming majority don't have literature degrees.

Oh I love San Diego too, but i'm not from California. My wife and I were on vacation in Santa Barbara last July, and I like to take pictures. I have relatives in Adelaide, Australia, by the way. But I have never visited them. I would hope to some day.

I'm currently studying in a high school specializing in the field of science, but I do possess a special interest in writing, one career which I also wish to pursue.

I guess you all have proven me wrong.

Niamh, you are an archaeologist? Wow that is so cool. I have never known any archeologist... guess they are very human... like the rest of us..hehehe...:D

Bakiryu, with all your posts, you are on your way of becoming a very good writer... maybe I should get your autograph now... it might be worth something down the track.

Hi Virgil. Thanks for the encouraging words. I feel very much at home in this forum by the minute. So you have family in Adelaide? Compared to New York, you will probably find Australia very quiet and... remote.. but we are a nice friendly bunch...

RoCKiTcZa, it seems you fit into those rare people who use both sides of their brains, the creative as well as logic/reasoning sides.... That goes for you too Virgil and all you Science people who are also good at Literature...(it is at these moments that I find God so unfair!)
