I could not help writing
Indeed I felt like writing

When I saw there are factors that divide us
Along racial lines
Boundaries, of course national and economic ones
Keep us apart

I know the sky is common to all
So is the earth
Air, water, sunlight and trees
They come freely and bounteously from nature

I bully someone and others bully me
Tugs of war between the mighty and the weak
Goes on endlessly

Why, but why we do so?
Just for space

We want more political space
Economic space

We manifest and propel our desires so much that
there will be no space for others

I often think of changing the world

Indeed many of my predecessors thought so

All failed and failed and failed

No theories worked, no ideologies lessened human greeds

I am recoiling myself and am crouching myself to be within my limitations

To write these lines
For I am helpless
You may think I am a pessimist

But I am helpless

I like the way you write on these kind of topics Blaze. I love reading your thoughts. I have written something similar to yours few months ago. Hope you like to read mine too. Here it goes blaze :

Nation On The Grave

Nepal, always staggering under debt,
lagging far behind, lined up in poverty line.
Country's economy in pitiful condition,
mostly hindered by terror and tension.

Millions of starving and frightened faces,
without basic necessities, still live in the dark age.
Deprived areas, people in down and out situation,
crying for mercy over their pathetic condition.

Corruption everywhere, rooted down in society,
everyplace in these days is rife with bribery.
From officers to leaders, they lost their morality.
They rather amass the wealth themselves in reality.

No hope for opportunities and lack of employment,
nation's youth migrating toward alien nation.
Hand-to-mouth situation for most of the people,
pipe distance for their health and education.

104 years of Rana's autocracy and brutality,
liberation of country on 2007 B.S. after a century.
Neither the country prospered during the Shah dynasty
nor after the decades from 2046 B.S. democracy.

Decade and more of people's war, thousands lives lost,
and even more severely disabled in the aftermath of the war.
Thousands women widowed and children orphaned.
Although the war settled, history mourns for what have happened...

Political chaos worsening day by day affecting whole nation.
Daily life often obstructed with strikes and violence.
Conspiracies everywhere for the power to reign again.
Fight for human rights...
But why fight merely on race, culture and religion ?

dibyendra, your poem exactly tells what really our country is undergoing. What else can we do, you and me, for we are just poets. What else can our people do? Dib you know, recently two innocent kids were abducted and killed, and there are atrocities everywhere. There is no security of life and property on one hand and on the other the level of poverty is worsening. Today those who are really able are leaving the country, and those who are disable or weak are forced to live on and on.

Dib, your poem mirrors the exact picture of what Nepal has exactly today. There is a good amount of sensibility in your poem, and that is what exactly poems are for.

Symphony, I am all, a combination of bits and pieces, pieced together coming to communicate with you across many barriers and boundaries.

Yes, there are plenty of reasons for being a pessimist, for my century is in turmoil. My country was a beautiful and peaceful country. Now no more so. I am a poet and just sing songs of pains and agonies. This is a literary forum and not a political one. I do not choose to say more about Nepal my country.

Yet I am at liberty to do so through poems, for poetry transcend all limits.

Political poems are prohibited in this forum(or so i've seen so far) for they rouse political discussions. But i dont think there's inclination towards any particular party or system in your poem, so it should be as welcome as any other poem.

And i dont think your poem has got anything to do with being a pessimist, than with being a realist. Just my opinion though.

Yes, I was also hopeless few months ago looking at the situation of our country.

Dib you know, recently two innocent kids were abducted and killed, and there are atrocities everywhere. There is no security of life and property on one hand and on the other the level of poverty is worsening.

Yes, these are all shocking facts to hear and I wonder how can people play such a dirty game for money ?

Today those who are really able are leaving the country, and those who are disable or weak are forced to live on and on.

Yes, these facts depress me from time to time and only questions ring in my head, why are all the youth, who are backbones of the country, are leaving gradually ? Let's hope for good things to happen soon Blaze.. Let's pray for that.

Thanks Blaze for your appreciation for my poem as well.
