Is it a reliable place to buy books? Has anyone here ever not recieved something that they bought on Amazon.com?

I order all my English books there and so far everything has arrived at the appointed time.

I buy pretty much EVERYTHING (music, books and movies) from Amazon. I have even ordered from Amazon UK! They are extremely reliable. Sometimes it might take a little longer to get something than originally mentioned, but it usually comes in the approximate time.

One time I ordered 2 books and a CD. I NEVER got it. It was tracked to some town (can't remember where), and then that was it. I NEVER got it. It was like the order completely fell off the face of the Earth. So, I contacted them. They looked into it. They immediately sent me the replacements at no additional charge.

So, I say that they are pretty good to shop with.

I've never had an issue with them. I've been ordering books from them, and from the sellers who have posted used books, for years. I've never had something not be delivered when ordered, and I often find with the people selling used books that the quality is better than what I expected from the description. I love to shop there, and I've tons of books I'm waiting to buy:)

Amazon is great, but ABE books have many more books listed I can imagine. www.abebooks.co.uk comes highly recommended.

I only ever didnt recieve a book once from them even though i got the email to say it had been dispatched. They sent another one out fairly fast. I get a LOT of stuff from amazon. I've managed to get my hands on a couple of hard to get books through them; Letters to molly, and Murder at the Abbey Theatre.

I've never ordered any books from Amazon, only cuz it's hard to get thier shipping to the Middle East. But I do know tons of people who use it, from US and Europe, and it's working perfectly with them.

Yeah, Amazon's great! I buy all my cd's from there and my Mom has gotten several books...all handled well.

If Amazon.com were a woman, I would totally hit on her. Of course, she'd also be incredibly far out of my league, but I like to think that she'd turn me down in a very classy manner.

The one time I didn't get a book in a timely manner (I think it was about 2 months late) I reported it and Amazon went about refunding my money, and then sure enough, the book came a few days after that, so I contacted them to let them know that i did receive it and that they needed to re-charge my credit card.

Just the fact that they did the right thing was good enough for me, given the experiences I've had with other companies. They are fair and they will correct the situation if something does wrong, in my experience.

Amazon's really good, you can get books for very cheap there, like a dollar, plus shipping.

It's important to check the reliability of the user you're buying from. Go through someone who's sold a lot of books, and who's been rated well.
