Death the Cheat

Is it bravery NOT to be afraid of Death?
Death, 'the leveller of all things'
Hath its own ways and means of transaction
One never knows when the bell rings !

A Loving heart cannot be at Peace
It wallows in the mud of his Love
Restlessly yearning to meet his beloved
Just like a falcon chasing a dove !

As Life's ordained without asking
So is Death, whether you like it or not
Life and Death are the two eternal facts
Love and Hate are like ingredients in the pot!

Name any living creature not afraid
Of the sting and bite of a scorpion or a snake?
Handling these lethal enemies of life
Without applying Mind is bravery? False, fake!

Bravery without magnanimity is crap
Sheer madness is not the trait of True Lovers.
Love is Heart and Mind working in Consonance
For the Beloved with a Soul which never demurs!

Oh ! were I afraid of Death
I wouldn't have ventured to come to your street
Knowing well that anyone who does that
Is Surely going to meet his Death, the Cheat !

The Butterfly

Behold, the colors of the butterfly--
A glimpse of divinity in the eye

Quietly flitting from flower to flower
Like A wave of color, like a glittering star

Sucking from the flowers her part of food
A droplet of nectar, a wine unbrewed

Pleasant to the eye, cool for the heart
How from flower to flower she whisks with art

She flits in the garden to everyone's amaze
Like a wave of sunbeam coupled with moon's rays

Her life is short yet she lives for ever
In the hearts of those who would harm her never

Touch her colors not lest you want her to die
Colors sublime are the life of a butterfly

Butterfly's a beautiful gift of Nature to men
She and she only reflects the colors of heaven.

''heaven'' in the last line doesnt necessarily mean the heaven ordinarily presumed : it has several meanings ,,,I used it in terms of a fantasy land

It's been said that the definition of bravery does NOT mean
being unafraid of death. Everyone is afraid! Bravery means standing up to the challenge at hand, DESPITE one's fear.

true but it is also said that no one is brave enough to jump down the Eiffel tower,,,,,,,,,,,for fear of death. there seems to be a bit of salt in this saying?
