What's your favorite thing that no one has ever heard of? You know: band, food, and such.
You said what it is and people just look at you're like you're mad.
So who? Who? What?
Who?
Band: Cinema Bizarre, they're [polish. Kill Hannah, from Chicago and of course, Verka Serduchka, very famous in Russia.
Food: pocky. Only japanese fangirls/fanboys knows what it is. Miso.
Why doesn't anybody get my bands!?
People don't even know who Linkin Park Are!

What?! Here almost everyone knows about Linkin Park and is head over heels for the band. I'm a huge fan of OPM and my favorite local bands are Rivermaya, Hale, and Cueshe. I've recorded for one of Joey Ayala's alternative music albums and was part of the singing group formed to record the movie theme of "Pakners," one fantastic film starring the late Fernando Poe Jr. and billiards champ Efren "Bata" Reyes. (Hope you don't take it as bragging of any sort) :p My favorite rap song would probably be Lando by Gloc 9, a local rapper. Favorite Pinoy food? For lunch I'd certainly love to have a bowl of "Nilagang Baka," flavorful beef soup. Balut--cooked duck eggs? Simply awesome!:D Pinoys rock!!!

I like to solve rubiks cubes, I do it in the hallway, in class before the bell rings, and am currently trying to do it one handed. One thing people really don't get about me is why I don't take pleasure in sitting in a over stuffed, putrid, disgusting, overcrowded lunch room where you have to shout to the person next to you so they can hear you, but I rather prefer to sit outside my fourth hour and eat my lunch while enjoying the freedom of movement, the relative quiet of the hallway, and overall avoid grabbing attention. The officer on duty knows my name and once a week (mondays) inquires why I don't sit in the lunchroom, to which I reply "I have no friends in my lunch." this I'm guessing is a suitable excuse because he normally drops the topic after that.

I completely understand how you feel about the lunch room!!
For me, a meal is supposed to be relaxing, you know, time-alone, personal time where you can actually taste and enjoy what you're eating.
What do ppl not know about me, and they find wierd...well, when I tell people that I'm an archer [that I can operate a bowand arrow], they give me the side-glance look that says: "okaaayy...I'll not mess with the crazy girl"
lol...I thoroughly enjoy their reactions though!

Rubik's Cubes!!! My, reminds me of that *siiiiighhhh*...:p
I haven't figured out the technique of speedcubing yet... but my classmate's really good in it. With his speed I'm sure he's got the capability to defeat the reigning world champion, who averages twelve second. I've seen him do it in less than ten seconds, and whenever he messes it up again he creates patterns on each side. Once he took apart his cube (which is so worn out some squares have already turned white) and showed me what was inside it. I find his talent really cool. No one actually understands why I like the guy (though I don't exactly fancy him that much) as most of the girls in my homeroom believe there isn't anything attractive about him besides his talent (which they don't even pay attention to either); surprisingly, I don't quite understand myself either, but I'm confident to have made the right choice even though I'm only interested as far as being his good friend (he's five months younger than me and we're not in the same clique, besides he is avoiding me on account of the teasing). Some say I'm desperate, some call me out of my mind, yet I'd rather believe that it's dedication that keeps me burning on, despite the bitter fact that there is no certainty in what I am hoping for, whether things will ever go my way or not. Still, I've learned not to give up on hope (though it's failed me so many times before) too soon, for there will surely be more brighter days to come, though they may not come as soon as tomorrow, and despite the fact that (like Sir Angeles says) tomorrow never comes.
I suppose you've already figured out how my signature came to be. ;)
Verka Serduchka, very famous in Russia.
The tranny? :D
I don 't like to talk about music because no one knows half of the things I love most, because they're from other countries... even in Italy, some things I love are not totally mainstream and I wanted to go to gigs and my friends were like who?
At least now everybody knows who Depeche Mode are. When I got into them I was 15 and people my age didn't have a clue. Now they grew up... (and even teenagers know DM now)

Whenever I tell someone the best film I have ever watched is Before Sunrise people cant even relate if such a film was ever made. Bt I simply love Ethan Hawk in that movie.

I like listening to the gypsy violinist Roby Lakatos. His version of Ochi Chornyje is grrr-ate.
And Django Rheinhardt - how he plays the guitar like that with only 4 fingers on his left hand I will never know.
I like the poem by Basho:
My house
Burnt down
I own
A better view
Of the rising moon.
Hmmm. What else. I like watching The Big Lebowski. And eating one solitary raspberry.
I like the idea of stand-up comedians being western cultures shamans, holy fools given license and thanks for twisting and bringing light to our cultural taboos. Like Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Doug Stanhope, Stewart Lee etc.
I like listening to Joseph Campbells's interviews about mythology.
I think Bataille is insane, and yet still find myself reading what he wrote.
I love what Yann Martel is doing by sending the Prime Minister of Canada a book that 'increases stillness' every other week. I am reading along with him.

cruel. I'm struggling at this.
I wonder if I can get my real foot anywhere near my mouth anyway.
Wait.
Let's try.
Yup. It stops somewhere past my shoulder.
Anyway, I is an idiot who believes everyone is a musician.

and I'm sorry if I insulted anyone.

Don't worry, Baki. Andy keeps trying to teach me how to play the piano, but she keeps getting angry when it dosen't work. . . . For some weird reason, I am incapable of master the beat.
Lemme see.
I have an odd fascination with cleaning my fingernails. Um. . . I can't live without fennel seed.
I'll post when I figure out more.

Everyone knows who Linkin Park is! I've been listening to them since I was 10! Thats 8 years ago! Kill Hannah is getting pretty big as well...so they aren't all that underground anymore. But they aren't huge either, so I get what you are saying about Kill Hannah...I love them. Have you hear IAMX? They are just now getting big I believe.
I like a lot of foreign bands as well...or at least foreign from the US. I listen and will listen to everything except for Country. Sorry, but I can't stand it. What sucks more is I live in a state that country is the music of the area.
I like Area...they are from Italy. Funky Jazz stuff...pretty nifty...its like fusion jazz. The Gotan Project is one of my favorites as well. They are from France and some other places...I forget, but the play Argentinian Fusion Tango stuff. Talib Kweli, Mos Def, The Roots and DJ Underground are probably some of my favorite hip/hop artists...for the most part though, they aren't that common in today's hip hop industry, but its not like no one knows them.
I bet no one knows Peter and The Ovaries!

I like pocky. And I am neither a fanboy nor a fangirl. ;)
How about African countries in general? That's usually when I get the weird looks - from my students or just from random people, at least in the US. "What and where is Burkina Faso?" And that was from one of my smartest students! People think Cameroon is Cambodia. "Wolof? What kind of a language is that?" (It's spoken in Senegal, mostly).
Not to offend or upset those of you who are familiar with various African countries.I'm talking mostly about the general American population.

I for one have never heard of linkin park. Just because a band is popular with your age group doesn't mean the entire planet has heard of them.
I have no clue what is being played on the pop stations or mtv. My son aged 14 listens to older music such as "Pink Floyd" and "Led Zeppelin." :)
Jazz Fusion can be very interesting, During the late 60s and early 70s Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock started experimenting with it.

That's the problem! My age group do not listen to them at all! (at least those I know)
I swear, if I ever watch either MTV or listen to a pop station ANY of you have license to come to my house with a rifle and shoot me.
Down with the norm!
(Yeah, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are kinda popular with some punks/goths)

Regarding songs, my all time favorites are two singers: Bob Dylan and John Lennon. I like them for they are versatile singers. They are philosophical in their lyrical presentations. One lyric always I like to hum is: It is blowing in the wind.
I like songs from different countries and Fatteh Ali Khan is my one of the favorite songs.
Sufi songs are really appealingly pleasing and they have no comparisons at all, in terms of the profundity of their meanings and intensity of passion and fervency

You remind me of Knocking On Heaven's Door!

You mean one of your favourite singers? Because Nisrat Fateh Ali Khan is a singer, not a song. :) Personally I like most of his songs very much as well. :) Have you heard Afreen Afreen? And Tumhain Dillagi Bhool Jani Pare Gi? How deep was the voice of this man and some of his lyrics very thoughtful!

They are, indeed. Am not sure about the 'pleasing' part. Depends on how you take them, can be bitter as well. But yes, very deep and make you ponder about different things.

Of all those people and styles I only know Dylan and Lennon.
But I've too agree. The Beattles were awesome.

Well I know every girl is obsessed with shoes, handbags or clothes... for me I am rather obssessed with buying bed linen. I like to decorate my bed according to my mood... sounds silly but I find I get a better night sleep if it did.
Another thing, I am obssessed with buying colorful sexy lingerie, although I would probably die if anyone sees me in them!

Flogging Molly. My friends in high school loved them! I haven't heard anyone mention them in a while . . . brings back memories. :)
And I love Deep Forest! They are awesome. My boyfriend is a huge music person, so I entirely have him to thank for me knowing about them, and for most of the music I know about.

Bakiryu: I have a quest for you.
You shalt go and retrieve a copy of Led Zepplin 'Remasters'. You shall put it in your stereo and play at a volume one quarter lounder than normal. You shalt play air guitar, and rock out with your limbs flailing everywhere
Afterwards. Relax. And meditate upon what you just heard.
You can thank me later.
If you have the taste to like Django, Lennon, Dylan et al. - then you'll love it.
Sunshine and lollipops. Rey.
