I wrote the for a woman who has had a profound influence on my life as well as the lives of hundreds and hundreds of other women. She has made us all better women, mothers, friends and citizens. It’s amazing how one woman can do so much for so many. I doubt she will ever truly understand the impact she has had on the universe.

Please let me know what I need to do to improve it. Thnaks.

Strong hands work swiftly,
moving with a wisdom passed down
from one woman to the next through generations.
They hold ancient secret knowledge and
bring light to what is a mystery.

Hands, steady and sure in their craft,
shape mothers as they bring forth babies,
pass blessings into the waiting arms of
proud fathers and crying grandparents.
They are witness to all that is precious.

With skill and care these tender hands
move through the lives of hundreds,
touch the lives of thousands,
reach into eternity, but
never see the fullness of their power.

I'm glad you wrote something about such a wonderful woman. I love her, too. She has given me some pretty amazing grandchildren! Hope she's doing ok.
Let me know.

There's nothing wrong with this poem, Mother H. A fitting tribute to a lady Doctor who undoubtly had to work hard to gain her degree, and then used her skills to help people as a Doctor should. I'd give it a 10 for 10 as is. If you want to add something about her working to gain her degree, OK, but otherwise, you have a simple, sweet homage to someone worthy of it.
