Anyone know of any interesting historical fictions(possibly with a mix of mysticism) taking place in(or partially taking place in) pre-Inquisition Spain or early after the establishment of the Inquisition in Spain? Actually, are there any historcal fictions that you'd recomend reading? Especially those with philosophical undertones.

Not sure about the Spanish setting you're looking for, but I'd suggest looking into Umberto Eco. :D

I know of no historical fictions, but if you are interested in mysticism in this era and around this area, read "The Dark Night" by St. John of the Cross...
