I don't know if this thread has been done before but, Should Gambling be legal?

Yes, but people shouldn't need money to live, so if it were legal, people would not lose their lives (because lost their money), but just money.

True, money is corruptive and demoralizing. It makes people do things they wouldn't otherwise. People should freely give to each other.

(yeah, like that's going to happen. We're too far away from Utopia)

:bawling: I don't know why people get addicted to gambling, even though I had a friend who was. He'd spend his paychecks on it, hoping to make money to pay back on what he owed. Poor guy is in a great deal of debt now.

Maybe because it's so fun, in the beginning when you begin winning and winning, and then you can't stop. Then again, there are people who have addictive personalties.

I think gambling is not fun at all . It infacts makes you so addicted to it that it drives you mad to the extend that you keep spending all your money on mere ptch and toss waiting for that eluding win.I dont find a point in making it legal

Gambling should be legal. Also, Utopian society is nonsense unless you're talking about a very small isolated community.

All business is gambling. Why do social critics look askance at some poor working slob who buys a lottery ticket (it only costs a dollar but buys him a little bit of hope)? Yet Wall Street investors, Hollywood producers, etc. risk millions of dollars and no one bats an eye. If that's not "gambling", I don't know what is!

I live in Louisiana, where gambling is legal. I work at a Casino as a Blackjack Dealer. I do not think you should gamble if you don't have money to lose. Be aware, that casino's do NOT make all there money because everyone is winning.....there are deftinately more losers than winners. If you know you have an addictive personality STAY AWAY FROM THE CASINO. However, if you can do things responsibly, going to the casino is FUN! You get free drinks and you also get comps for free meals and free rooms, so that kinda of covers the money you are spending (kinda). I think most people do it for the thrill. I'm not much for gambling, but dealing is DEFTINATELY a fun job!
