Tallinn 2003
Grey clouds floating in the sky
that can`t be seen any more.
A ray of light? No, it`s just in my eyes
from where the sun can never be torn.
Blocks of flats from Soviet times
that are all the same everywhere.
From era when everything was a lie
but has it changed? Nobody cares.
The streets are full of cars
being there all days and nights.
I wonder where are the stars?
I can`t see them `cause lights are too bright.
On Viru street there are two men,
something evil is taking shape in their heads.
Dear tourists, hold your bags from them
when you so naively enjoy the sights there.
There`s an abandoned cat by a dustbin.
He`s as alone as a nearby dog.
There are hundreds of them in the dim,
surrounded by carelessness and fog.
Down the street people fastly go,
only gloom and silence in their face.
A little smile to each other? Oh no!
We have no such time to waste!
A day ends, comes a night
that is not really darker than day.
Will tomorrow be a little more bright?
Believe me, dear friend, no way!
