for nickel-deposit bottles.
Sidewalk strewn with dry fall leaves.
Neighbourhood crazy homeless guy
sorting through his collection of odds and ends.
Not really homeless, but
prefers to live as if he were.
I sip my semi-long espresso
and chew on an oatmeal-raisin cookie.
