Open spaces
banks of trees
rows of houses
playing fields
swollen rivers
fallen leaves
silver pylons
industry
busy tractors
sudden rain
steam the window
up again
cruising the tracks…
cruising the tracks…
cruising the tracks…
cruising the tracks…

Play some music
read a book
write a poem
do some work
bacon sandwich
cup of tea
watch the passing
scenery
watch a movie
play a game
things we do whilst
on the train
passing the time…
passing the time…
passing the time…
passing the time…

Wow Fifth ! You're having a great time doing so many things. Wish I get the time to pass like you did. Cool. :thumbs_up

Thanks Dibyendra - I had a long train journey yesterday and this seemed an appropriate way of 'passing the time'!

The rhyme was lovely actually, even surprising. I liked the repetitions that I believe represented the clickety clack of the tracks.

Not only is it a very nice poem to read, it's fun to look at too. Good job, Fifth.

I agree with Amp. The short lines, the sharp sounds, the repetition.... Very well done, Fifth.

This is marvelous, Fifth. Love the sound when you open the window. You must spend a good amount of time on a train; it's in your bones.

Wow! I have almost no memory of life when I could not hear the trains go by. The house I was raised in was seperated from the railroad by a factory, a road, and the river. When we moved into the housing project, the train ran the river gorge below us. I moved as an adult to Atkins and have never lived more than one block form the tracks. A train is going by as I type. And you make those wonderous pylons. What was it Bob Hope always sang? Oh yeah. "Thanks For the Memories", Fifth.
