Marcel Marceau jouneyed on today I guess, according to the newspaper. Who saw him live? (I saw him 9 yrs. ago and he was a rare talent.)
Anybody see the mime Jim Donlon, now teaching at U San Diego I think? There's a talent if he is still performing.
But who saw Marcel?

I saw him on TV a long time ago. Yes, he was talented. May he rest in peace.
Here's a nice little tribute to him on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNqskkKMkFQ

I've heard his name around, but I really didn't know who he was until he just recently died. His work looks like something I should get into and Virgil posting a YouTube link reminded me that YouTube is the answer to everything. :D (Thank you! XD) So, soon I will watch him. I love stuff like that...

No, I didn't, although I had heard his name. I did recently attend a mime workshop in his honor at my university, though.

When I was 18, I belonged to a theater group in West LA. About 10 of us took an abandoned warehouse and turned it into a marvelous neighborhood theater called the Oxford Theater. It was one block from Western and Santa Monica. The first group consisted of Marsha Mason, Barry Levinson, Craig Nelson, and those of us who never met with fame.
One night Marcel Marceau came by to teach us some mime techniques, at the request of the theater director, and afterward we went to a place in LA called Ah Fong's, where Marcel, feeling very relaxed began clowning around with all of us and putting on quite a show for and with us. We all knew while all this was happening how wonderful and truely awesome it was to be playing like children with this master.
It is something I have never forgotten on second of, even though that was nearly 40 years ago.

I only heard about Marcel Marceau just this morning (what a shame)! I never heard of him before and guess where I knew about him! In an anime cartoon! Will you believe that? I'm such an ignorant person. *sighs* His talent is awesome though.
