I have to write an Ap english essay about how Nick Carraway is the voice and reason of the great gatsby that is the main assertion but how do I give proof and commentary? any suggestions?

Was George Wilson unfit to be Myrtle's husband?
How so?

I hated this book, so much of it has left my memory, but I'll try.

First off, what do you mean by "unfit"?
Carraway didn't seem to have voice/reason. He didn't interject his own comments into the narrative much, from what I remember.

Have you tried the Sparknotes yet?

Nick seems to be the only honest person in the novel. Jay and Tom and Daisy and Jordan and Wolfsheim are a bunch of shallow, greedy monsters. They think that money is everything. Jay buys into this after Daisy spurned him long ago and cannot understand why she won't leave Tom for him. After Mrs. Wilson is killed, The Buchanans leave their mess behind and run off and leave Jay and New York in their filthy dust. Nick cannot stand it and retreats to the Midwest. He retains his honesty.

Wilsons...Myrtle has big dreams, and George is a simple garage mechanic. He has done his best, but it just isn't good enough for his money-loving wife.
