To A Fellow Book Junkie

The Memsahib tells me of a special occasion,
And she knows that I listen to her kind reminders;

I’ll bet you learned the art of reading at a very early age;
And having sampled the written word, you could never get enough!
Were you ever jumped in grade school for grumping that the primers were garbage?
Were you ever pop-quizzed because they didn’t believe you’d read the stuff?
Happy Birthday, Malwethien, I believe we’d be two kindred souls:
I always read the novel when others browsed the Cliff’s Notes!

Blaise Castle was immortalised by being described as "the finest place in England" in Jane Austen's novel Northanger Abbey (a sentiment not necessarily shared by the author, however).
