unrepentant

upon my knees
hands clasped
i cry for release

why am i bound
to thee amongst these
boulders of remorse
'neath these lead grey skies
heavy clouds encircling
my heart

shall i allow thee
entrance where none
other have gone before

shall i acquiesce
to thy ceaseless need
thy persistent demands

or shall i forge my path
proud, alone, determined

unrepentant
i am

Passionate as this is, once again I did not feel that the ending, after all these supplications, was justified. Where did the conviction come from that is asserted at the end? Not from anywhere I could see within the poem.

Thanks for the dancing frog, Pen. He's one of my favourite cartoon characters. "Give my regards to Broadway...." :D

Jer.... something missing, yes, I think you're right. Either that or too much. Perhaps that last stanza is simply superfluous. I'll have to think on that one.... Thanks.
