Of Pennies and Half-Pennies

Yesterday

A penny moment came to me,
And it asked me who I am.
I told him, "I'm a half-penny,
And you may call me Sam."

A penny dream came passing by,
He took me for a cent.
I told him, "I'm a half-penny,"
And he knew what I meant.

A penny thought accused me bad,
He said I killed a man.
Now you'll see a very sad
Half-penny Sam.

Okay, if you can guess the theme of this, I'll draw you a picture- and just so you know, I can't draw. But it's a secret theme, but if you can guess it yeah. Actually there are two themes, but one is personal and impossible for you to figure out, but the other you might. Make that three themes, but the third is obscure and doesn't matter. Or probably it's such a perfect poem there are infinite themes, but if you can guess the one I have in mind, I'll draw you a picture. Yes, because I thought of another theme that came before the third...

Haha, I'm crazy, but if you could follow my thought processes you'd be very happy.
