When I was very little (we're talking around four or five years old) i read a very sad book. It was a Spanish translation, and I believe the original language was Russian. The tittle was Bin Blanco Oreja Negra (that is in English Bin White Black Ear) and was about a very loyal dog whose master went to was and had an iron shard near his heart. The man left to get an operation and the dog went searching for him.

This is all I can remember, does anyone know the author of this book?

Hi There :) I just joined thiscommunity two minutes ago so I could help you with this question. I don't know the book you mean, but
http://forums.abebooks.com/abesleuthcom

is a forum on abe books where people help others identify books they can only vaugely remember, like this one. You do have to go back and check to see if anyone replied--they don't send anykind of e-mail notification, and the people who find your book like to be thanked, but thats just manners, right? Anyway, brilliant people who know a whole lot about books. They might be able to help you.

Good luck!

The author is Gavriil Troepolskii (sometimes credited as Troyepolsky), and the original title in russian is Belyy Bim - Chyornoe ukho.

Apparently, the translation in spanish is as you stated, but in english it's White Bim, Black Ear.

As always with russian authors, the divergence of names/translations can be a bit hazardous, but check this out:

Here (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0873936/) is an IMDB entry for the author (the book was adapted for a movie in 1977).

Here (http://www.library.georgetown.edu/dept/collect/lists/russtrans/index.cfm?Action=ViewTitle&titleID=440) is an entry in Georgetown's University that lists the book, author, and publisher, plus the title in which it was published in english (Beem).

Finally, here (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/105-1332331-9518039?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Troyepolsky&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go) is the book available at Amazon (you can see that the data matches the one from the above site). And guess what, it's very cheap. :D

I'm sorry if you were looking for the spanish version, but neither of the book sites I know list it.

Hope that helps.
