Do you mean Demon Diary? yeah that one is ok. I agree that they are expensive ($10) but it's worth it if the series is really good!

I suppose they translate them into many languages cos they seem to be pretty famous in many places. Never managed to get into them myself, but I know many people who are, or were, interested in them.

I've read quite a few, among others: Planet Ladder, Naruto, KareKano, and a bit of Fruits Basket. Plus alot of online ones by gifted amateurs. Which do you read?

I didn't know there was proffessional manga online. Where do you find it?

samercury
09-04-2005, 10:27 PM
Yeah !!!!
Fruits Basket is so cool!!! I read most of the KareKAno series too. It was ok. Have you heard of DNAngel- it's really good;). Girl Got GAme is another good one and Kodocha, Mars, Othello and xxxHolic by Clamp are really good too =)

There are tons of websites that have professional manga like:
http://dreaming-illusions.tk/
http://www.strawberryvanilla.net/
http://www.manga.roel.no-ip.info/
http://dragonvoice.org/

Enjoy =)

Oh thanks for the sites! I'll definately be spending some time there :D
Ah it is true: Furuba is the best! I used to play that game when I was small too... only I used to win (which is strange, it's a game you're not supposed to be able to win in, so I must have cheated o.0 )
I haven't read any of the other ones on your list although I have heard of some. I'll keep an eye out ^^

Does anyone know if volume 4 of 'Hikaru no Go' is out yet. I just read volume 3 (awesome) and can't find volume 4 anywhere.

Thanks :D

hmm, that's weird. only volume 4? haven't i finished all 23 volumes of hikaru no go?

unfortunately i downloaded it a long time ago, so i can't remember where i got them before they became illegal to distribute online. :p

it gets boring and random, though. just a warning.

NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!(sad) 23 volumes and licensed.
Does it really get boring??? Tell me more (please)

Aeonna

Well, I stopped reading Hikaru no Go before it was licensed because of the "incident" where one of the characters disappears. Underground, you will know what I'm talking about.

09-29-2005, 01:55 AM
yeah. :( afterward it becomes somewhat realistic and i don't like it much.
there's another manga done by the same artist called death note. in it, there's also the "incident" in which one of the characters disappears. prior to that, it was enjoyable.

Does anyone know anywhere that I can find scanlations of manga by the person who wrote Fruits Basket :D

Tachikawa
10-08-2005, 10:36 PM
Can't help you with that...

But I love anime, not so much manga. I've read Sailor Moon, Fullmetal Achemist, Alichino, Hot Gimmick, and others. I do get Shojo Beat though and highly enjoy God Child.

I love anime too :D... Which ones are your favorites???

Tachikawa
10-09-2005, 01:13 AM
My absolute favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist. :D I LOVE that show. I want all the DVDs of the series, and the new movie. My other favorites are Rouroni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, and Cowboy Bebop.

Sailor Moon is an old favorite.

samercury
10-09-2005, 10:15 AM
Haven't watched Fullmetal Alchemist yet. The others that you mentioned are pretty good especially Rourori Kenshin. I like Sailor Moon up to the Super S season :D. Did you ever watch the Inu Yasha, Fruits Basket, Pantasia, Naruto, and Glass Mask anime? :D

Tachikawa
10-11-2005, 11:23 PM
Ah, Fullmetal is great, I think you'll enjoy it. I've seen some of Inu Yasha, but none of the others you mentioned. I'm drawing a blank on the Pantasia and Glass Mask anime..but I really want to see Naruto. Except it's going to be so horribly edited probably like they did with Shaman King. But I still want to see it. How is it?

underground

yeah, fma is actually one of the best anime because it's not too cliche and predictable. (though some cheesy moments do exist.)

and just have to make a correction: it's rurouni kenshin, not... anyhing else. :p i like the manga, but the anime is pretty horrible because after the shishio arc it's pretty much fillers after fillers. i was in pain trying to finish all 97 (?) episodes because i was already at ep 60-ish when it became dull and didn't want to give it up in spite of common sense.

inuyasha and naruto are going downhill, as any shows with over 100 episodes are bound to be. (e.g., sailor moon, dragon ball, pokemon)

many people worship furuba, but i personally don't see what the hype is all about. i've read the first 6 volumes a couple years ago or so, and while it was funny at times, i don't think it'll ever be on my top ten list. i didn't really like the angular artwork, and tohru is way too patient for her own good. or maybe i was just not in a good mood when i read it. heh, i should try to pick it up again one of these days.

Sorry for the mispelling!!!!!!! (I won't forget again) Furuba isn't that bad (pretty good actually :D

Too many episodes episodes do kind of ruin the show after a while- that I have to agree with......

I've seen that film too. It was so sad >.<, and yet so beautiful. They've started showing Miyazaki's films in the cinema here now. I've also seen Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, Spirited away and Laputa, the Castle in the sky. They all have the same touch of magic and vivid fantasy, I love them all despite the similarities in plot. I'm thinking of seeing Howl's moving castle next ^^.

DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DISLIKE SPOILERS

Yes, it was Sai who disappeared. After that the series lost it's sting a bit, so you didn't miss much.

Yeah, deathnote is good too but I felt that it should have ended by now. They could of wrapped it up long ago, making it potentially movie-length.

I liked Kenshin. And Berserk... and I've always wanted to read the Kingdom Hearts mangas. Yu Yu Hakusho was one of my favorites aswell. Inuyasha I like, just because Sessho maru is so cool. I guess I liked the themes in Naruto(Kishimoto's themes), but in the anime, there's way too much yelling...and of course, I had a childhood attachment to Dragon Ball(I think the first anime to come out here).

Bakiryu

Yu Yu Hakusho was one of the first anime I ever watched, but i didn't get any of it since I didn't even speak English at the time. InuYasha is cool too, but kinda boring. I liked the movies a bit but they should improve it a little bit. Kingdom Heats it's pretty cool and I should get into it but the fans kept spoiling it for me. I think I like Naruto because he's like me (with less yelling and more randomness). Dragon Ball is like a stapple anime. It's hard to find an anime fan who actually HASN'T watched it. It's pretty good :)

I've read about 3 volumes of Yu Yu Hakusho, but I kind of lost interest since
a) I could never get to the bookstore so I had to read scanned images online, and
b) I'd already seen the entire anime (loved it!) so I already knew what was going to happen.
But it was really cool. I had to get used to reading the "wrong" way.

Anza

I drove my mom crazy with it, because I was reciting it every moment. The only way I can remember it, was
1) I recited it aloud
2) I memorized each stanza seperately, then used the first line to prompt myself
3) I memorized it in halves (i.e. There are 18 stanzas so I memorized nine, then the other nine.)
4) Strangely, I found that I was blurting out stanzas I hadn't memorized yet. I have no idea how, but the ones I just blurted, I memorized entirely without trying.
