The greatest Estonian classic - has anyone here read his books? If somebody has read anything else by him then let me know what you think. Estonians of course have read him...if any estonians here.

Well, I haven't read "Truth and Justice" yet, but I have read "Kõrboja peremees" (Liina, mis selle tõlgitud pealkiri on?) It was interesting. The sentences were good too. A good love story where actually the word "love" in not mentioned even once. I quite liked it.

ma ei tea tegelikult, kuidas "Kõrboja peremees" inglise keeles võiks olla...The farmer of Kõrboja? Pole aimugi:P

I managed to derive from reading "Truth and Justice" quite well, I only read the 5th part and I actually loved it but "Kõrboja peremees" was utterly boring. It`s my opinion though... Maybe it`s because Tammsaare seems to be a (the) god for my literature teacher.

What are the chances that anyone is going to read this, but I´d like to dicuss about Andres and how in time he became bitter and why.
My thought are tha one of the main reosons was the farm and he had so many great plans for it but most did not come to life.the other reason might be Krõõt`s death probably and that none of the children wanted to take over the farmlife.I think the Pearu had somewhat say in that to.
