You couldn't get translated version?

1. Book XI, chapter 3, "A little Demon" features a frightening and changed Lise. She wants to burn the house and destroy herself. How is this chagne manifested in her eating the pinapple compote while watching the crucified child slowly die?

Eating pineapple compote while watching crucified child dying reminds me on Circus Maximus; emperors are eating fruits, drinking wine and watching people dying in horrible pain just for someones pleasure. Looks like a sign of cruelty and enjoying in other peoples pain. She enjoyed making people suffer, just remember her mother and Alyosha.

which characters are most like Lise?
Maybe Ilyusha; they are both young, with great anger to whole world but still kids, like Alyosha says:''Pure good'', and they became good at the end.

2. What connection can you make about Fyodor playing the buffoon and his fear of night?

He was a coward, and his playing gives him situation in which nobody takes him seriously, and therefore would have no reason to harm him and you're harming people mostly at night, when nobody can see you.

3. what does it mean when Smerdyakov says it's always a pleasure speaking to a clever man?

He was under great influence of Ivan, and he choose Ivan as the only man who he admires. Ivan's famous quote ''If there's no God, then everything else is permitted.'' was his credo in justifying murder of Fyodor Pavlovitch. He believed that Ivan was sending that like a message to him. Only thing I'm not sure, was Smerdyakov thinking that's it's a pleasure for him to discuss with Ivan or Ivan should be proud to talk with Smerdyakov. Seeing his egoism, probably this second.
