Since there is no Ray Bradbury specific forum, a quick question....

Near the end of the fifteenth chapter he uses a line that really curious to understand and i can't seem to figure out:

Somewhere a vast animal made water. Ammonia made the wind turn ancient as it passed.

It's at the very end of the scene where their teacher gets lost in the Mirror Maze, and she walks away from them....I'm not sure how he is using Ammonia there, the only definition i kind find is the chemical that is used in fertilizers, and it has pungent and dangerous fumes. Just curious how it is making the winds ancient, if there are any english professors or whatnot that care to enlighten me, thanks.

I think he is just saying that the animal urinating made the air stink.

I haven't gotten that far in the book yet :blush:
