Sky Dancer Birthday

Saw a lady dancing in the sky about sunset yesterday,
And I thought that my glasses weren’t working anymore.
Took out my polishing cloth and cleaned them—still there anyway,
I began to have these visions of white coats and locked doors.
Asked the cat if he had heard any rumors in the animal world,
And many of you may think that statement is so absurd.
Cats travel where they want and pick up things from birds and squirrels,
And they can whisper secrets if you have got the ears to catch the words.
“So you saw the Sky Dancer late last evening, is that what shook you?”
I nodded, giving him a rub along his sleek black fur,
“Well, today is her birthday, they call her ‘Tabula Rasa’, will that do?”
‘Thanks for the information, here’s a sardine, what do I write for her?”
I don’t now that we have ever been introduced; I’m Pen, Resident Troubadour:
