Thanks for posting this! I will be one of the ones waiting for the trade paperback compilation. I've waited this long for Feast for Crows to come out, it won't be any harder waiting for that.

I'm happy to hear of your interest in The Hedge Knight Trade Paperback, my friend. There is also an additional story 'The Battle of The Redgrass', just a little extra treat for the fans :)

Sorry to steal Mr. Khan's thread but check out www.georgerrmartin.com for his latest update concern Song of Fire and Ice Saga. More delay....

Darnit Darnit Darnit!

I have waited for this for SO long! I literally stumbled on A Game of Thrones in the bookstore and bought it on a whim... only to spend an entire summer break obsessed with reading the first three books... thinking it was a trilogy... only to get within 200 pages of finishing the third book and suddenly realizing this was NOT a trilogy.

JUST the other day I had checked on Amazon and it still listed September 2004. Now I read that update on his site, return to Amazon, and their "dart" hit August 2005. Ugh.

But I'm glad he's taking his time. Reading that update reminds me of his "voice" and I can't wait to get that in the next volume. I don't care how long he takes... because as it is, after we all read Feast we're going to be inevitably waiting for the next one.

You are right, I don't care how long it takes, I have an inkling that It will be worth the wait. I don't want a Jordanesque fall in the quality and to avoid that I am willing to wait extra.

Oh and as he said, we shouldn't believe in any conjectured dates posted by publishing websites, he will post a message as soon as the first draft is complete on his site. [As he posted]
