Texts for a dissertation

Hi,

I'm doing a dissertation for advanced higher english (scotland) and need two texts which can be compared and contrasted, on a subject. The texts can be by the same or different authors.

Any suggestions?

I wrote an essay on "The Sun Also Rises" and "All Quiet On the Western Front" for my advanced English class in high school; comparing and contrasting their representations of the Lost Generation. Worked pretty well.
