Abstract:
The article explores the understanding of the term "reading" and its temporal context through the literary philosophy of the Russian American author Vladimir Nabokov and his novel "Lolita." Nabokov's conceptions of reflection and retrospective understanding of literary themes are discussed in detail. The paradoxical double-layered depiction of false simulation is explained.
